Mental Health Services in Ogden, Logan & Pleasant Grove

Mental health concerns can affect children, teenagers, adults, couples and entire families.

Sometimes the need is clear. A parent may be looking for therapy because a child is struggling with anxiety or behavior. A teenager may be experiencing depression, school difficulties or family conflict. An adult may be dealing with trauma, grief or relationship stress.

Other times, someone knows that something is wrong but is not sure what type of mental health service to choose.

Quality Youth Services provides mental health services for children, teens, adults, couples and families in Ogden, Logan and Pleasant Grove. Our Harrisville office is located just minutes from Ogden, with additional QYS locations in Logan and Pleasant Grove.

Services include individual therapy, family and couples counseling, group therapy, telehealth and mental health assessments.

Child Therapy

Children do not always have the words to explain what they are feeling.

Instead, emotional difficulties may appear as:

  • Anxiety

  • Behavioral problems

  • Emotional outbursts

  • School refusal

  • Withdrawal

  • Anger

  • Difficulty sleeping

  • Family conflict

  • Changes in school performance

Child Therapy provides age-appropriate support for children dealing with emotional, behavioral and relationship concerns.

Therapy may help children learn to recognize emotions, develop coping skills and communicate more effectively.

Parents and caregivers may also be involved when appropriate.

  • Self-harm

  • Relationships

  • Identity and social pressure

  • School refusal

Our Teen Therapy services provide adolescents with a supportive environment to discuss concerns, strengthen coping skills and work toward healthier emotional and behavioral patterns.

Adult Therapy

Adults may seek counseling for many different reasons.

Concerns may include:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Trauma

  • Grief

  • Anger

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Borderline Personality Disorder

  • Relationship problems

  • Family stress

  • Major life changes

Family Therapy

When one member of a family is struggling, the effects often reach the rest of the family.

Repeated arguments, behavioral concerns, communication problems or major life changes can place stress on everyone.

Family Therapy can help family members:

  • Improve communication

  • Understand recurring patterns

  • Reduce conflict

  • Clarify boundaries

  • Strengthen relationships

  • Work together on shared concerns

Family Therapy may involve parents, children, teenagers or other family members depending on the situation.

Couples Counseling

Relationships can experience periods of stress, conflict and disconnection.

Couples may seek counseling because of:

  • Communication problems

  • Repeated arguments

  • Emotional distance

  • Trust concerns

  • Parenting disagreements

  • Major life changes

  • Relationship stress

Couples Counseling can help partners examine recurring patterns, improve communication and work toward healthier ways of handling disagreements.

Group Therapy

Individual therapy is not the only way to receive mental health support.

Group Therapy brings together individuals who may be dealing with similar concerns or working on related skills.

Depending on the current group and program, group therapy may focus on areas such as:

  • Emotional regulation

  • Coping

  • Communication

  • Relationships

  • Mental health education

  • Behavioral skills

Group availability, eligibility and schedules may vary.

Telehealth Therapy

For some clients, attending therapy remotely can make mental health care easier to access.

Telehealth Therapy allows eligible clients to meet with a mental health provider through a secure virtual appointment when telehealth is clinically appropriate.

Telehealth may be useful for:

  • Adults

  • Teenagers

  • Families

  • Couples

  • Some children

Suitability depends on the client’s needs, provider licensing, insurance requirements and clinical circumstances.

Mental Health Assessments

Sometimes the first step is determining what is contributing to a person’s emotional or behavioral concerns.

A Mental Health Assessment may help explore:

  • Current symptoms

  • Emotional functioning

  • Behavioral concerns

  • Relationships

  • School or work

  • Family circumstances

  • Previous treatment

  • Trauma history when relevant

  • Safety concerns

The purpose is to better understand the person’s needs and determine appropriate next steps.

Comprehensive Mental Health Assessments

Some situations may require a broader review of emotional, behavioral and psychosocial functioning.

A Comprehensive Mental Health Assessment may examine multiple areas to provide a clearer understanding of the individual’s current mental health needs.

These assessments may be relevant for individuals, families or referral sources seeking a more complete clinical picture.

If an outside organization requires specific testing, documentation or provider qualifications, contact Quality Youth Services before scheduling to confirm the exact service needed.

Sexual Behavior Assessments

Children or teenagers displaying concerning or problematic sexual behavior may sometimes need specialized assessment.

A Sexual Behavior Assessment may examine:

  • The nature of the behavior

  • Frequency and circumstances

  • Age and developmental factors

  • Emotional functioning

  • Behavioral concerns

  • Family factors

  • Trauma history when relevant

  • Safety concerns

  • Referral requirements

Sexual behavior assessment should not automatically be described as psychosexual testing, forensic evaluation or risk assessment unless those exact services and qualifications have been confirmed.

How Do I Know Which Mental Health Service I Need?

You do not need to diagnose yourself or your child before contacting a therapist.

Start with the main concern.

For example:

My child is struggling emotionally or behaviorally

Start with Child Therapy.

My teenager is anxious, depressed, angry or withdrawing

Start with Teen Therapy.

I am an adult struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma or life stress

Start with Adult Therapy.

Our family is constantly arguing

Consider Family Therapy.

My partner and I are having relationship problems

Consider Couples Counseling.

I am interested in therapy with others facing similar concerns

Review Group Therapy.

I need virtual counseling

Review Telehealth Therapy.

I am unsure what condition or concern is causing the problem

A Mental Health Assessment may be appropriate.

A court, agency or professional requested an evaluation

Provide Quality Youth Services with the exact written requirements so the appropriate assessment can be identified.
